These are outstanding results given the unpredictability of the ‘post-COVID’ application environment, with increases in international applications, a change in testing rules and greater student mobility, leading to the highest ever application numbers to the most selective universities. Unperturbed by the competitive climate, Marlburians showed admirable ambition and applied not only to the most selective global universities, but many applied to arguably the most competitive programs (such as Computer Science, Economics, Business and Physics).
Whilst the most competitive schools will always draw the eye, it must be reiterated that every pupil had their personal targets, personal agenda and personal ‘reach’ schools. We are enormously proud of every pupil. Outcomes, whether international or domestic, come from so much more than just effective application strategy and preparation. They come from the holistic and rigorous education provided at Marlborough which supports such a broad range of outcomes. We want pupils to ‘fit’ their Higher Education destinations and then to become active thriving members of that community.
