Pupils’ Evening Recital

Wednesday 17th May 2023

Amidst a very busy week of musical performances of one sort or another (eight at the last count), we were treated to a glorious evening recital, with performers mainly drawn from our pool of excellent music scholars.

It was a mouthwatering array of repertoire, ranging from Stamitz to Britten, and from Schubert to Sibelius, with each performer neatly and effectively characterising their particular contribution.

Notable Lower School performances were offered by Camilla G, Bo G, Finn B, Faith S and Flo M, who all demonstrated excellent potential for the future, with Upper School performances from Molly D, Jack H-S, Poppy M, Lottie V, Lara R, Olivia M and Oli R revealing intelligent and impressive control throughout. Additionally, thanks as always go to our our accompanists Clare Toomer and Hamish Brown for once again offering expert guidance and support.

Particular praise should go to the Upper Sixth performances from Oli R, Molly D and Poppy M, for whom it was their last recital appearance as pupils at the College, and who have given so much pleasure to so many during their Marlborough careers. We wish them well.

Bravo indeed.
