The Singing Department remains a hugely popular and energised enterprise, with large numbers of pupils engaging in all manner of musical mediums, and in the process, contributing to some highly commendable productions and presentations throughout the school year.
The ‘Songs from the Shows’ event is almost a microcosm of the said department’s success, in fact the event is so oversubscribed that it takes two concerts over two separate evenings to accommodate all the performances.
There is much to admire throughout, with a wide variety of age and stage on display. Accompanists Clare Toomer, Michael Butterfield and Hamish Brown provide colourful and skilful support, allowing the performers to deliver with admirable confidence and courage.
At this time of the academic year, when the numbers of concerts remaining are dwindling – certainly for the Upper Sixth – we begin to turn our attention to the year ahead. Looking down the programme, one couldn’t fail to notice the significant number of quality Lower Sixth performers, which bodes well for another feast to come.

For now though, whilst congratulating all the performers that took part in these two most enjoyable concerts, a special word of praise and thanks to the following Upper Sixth that participated and we wish them well on their journey into life. Georgie C, Bella E, Emily G, Daisy R, Lily VN and Nina W
