Marlborough College hosted an U10 Hockey and Rugby Festival for local Prep Schools on Wednesday 29th November, with over 150 young players taking part.
The afternoon began with a hockey skills clinic, led by Mark Ramage (Head of Hockey) and members of his coaching team, before a series of matches with five prep schools participating in the hockey section.
In rugby, youngsters had the chance to run out on the famous Hamersley pitch with two groups of four teams enjoying a series of matches and skills sessions overseen by Marlborough College staff and senior players. Coaches from Bath Rugby Foundation were also on hand to lend their expertise.
All players received a goodie bag at the end of the day as well as a post-match tea in Norwood Hall. Joe Quinn (Assistant Director of Sport), commented: “It was wonderful to see so many young players actively participating in the day, which is now a popular annual event. There was a real buzz around the hockey and rugby, both on the pitches and on the sidelines, and I hope everyone enjoyed their experience.”
With thanks to the following schools for their participation and to all parents and coaches for supporting another enjoyable festival:
