It has been a busy start to the second half of term for the U14, U16 and 1st VII netballers who have competed in Wiltshire County Schools Tournaments, hosted here at the College.
The Shell were first up on Saturday 4th November, with rain giving way to sunshine ready for the start of play on Fox’s Bridge at 10am. The team demonstrated great potential, notably Penelope H at goal shooter and Isla T at centre, and finished third in Wiltshire. The future looks bright for this group and we look forward to seeing them develop throughout the Lent Term.
Our U16 team, an exciting combination of Remove and Hundred girls, were unstoppable and won all seven of their fixtures. Zaza B provided an accurate target at goal shooter, with Saffy R working tirelessly in defence. A brilliant performance which rightly earns them a place in the next stage of the National Schools Tournament.
The senior round was played on Tuesday 7th November, with the 1st VII keen to replicate the successes of the U16s. Led expertly by Sophia E, the girls looked after each other and worked hard to convert their centre passes which is so key in fraught tournament conditions! Milly G impressed in her debut at senior level, working well with Martha J to transition the ball out of defence, and three wins from three were secured.
As County Champions, both the U16A and 1st VII progress to representing Wiltshire at Regional Schools on Saturday 3rd February 2024 in Bournemouth.
