Following on from the hugely successful and popular competitive Music Festival, the equally inclusive Emerging Talent Recital once again offered a tantalising array of musical potential. The Music Department prides itself on a philosophy of ‘Music for All’, whilst catering for specialism as required, and this recital was a perfect illustration of the all embracing factor.
All year groups, apart from the Upper Sixth, were featured including a number of Music Scholars both on first and second study instruments. A rousing opening from Jamie B on bagpipes set the scene, with percussion featuring heavily throughout (in both solo and ensemble format), and the Junior Singers also offering two splendid contrasting numbers to good effect. Soloists were also in plentiful supply, supported as always to perfection by our wonderful accompanists, and special praise must surely go to Paloma J for participating in no less than four separate performances!
Congratulations then to all performers on another varied and fulfilling occasion.
