Pupils’ Evening Recital

Friday 23rd February 2024

As the term begins to gather momentum on the performance front, we were once again treated to another full and varied evening recital, featuring predominantly leading Music Scholars with a sprinkling of other high quality musicians as well.

We choose to present these concerts in the larger space of the Memorial Hall rather than the more intimate surroundings of the Goodison Hall for two reasons: firstly, our pianists get the opportunity to perform on our magnificent Model D Concert Steinway, and secondly, performers experience the thrill of playing solos in the glorious space and acoustics that make our hall so famous.

All the performers in this recital clearly relished this opportunity in a programme of fabulous variety and colour, and in so doing demonstrating their considerable talents and skills in the process. In total, there were 21 captivating performances. Perhaps a special mention should be made of Olivia L and Camilla G, who offered two performances on different instruments, alongside Jack H-S, Grace M and Bo G for particularly impressive displays on this occasion.

Thanks as always to the teachers who helped prepare our musicians, not forgetting of course, our wonderful accompanists.

Impressive stuff, bravo one and all.
