Rock & Pop Concert

Tuesday 27th February 2024

The termly Rock and Pop Concert took place on Saturday 24th February with a packed and enthusiastic crowd in The Memorial Hall.

There were performers from Remove to Upper Sixth and all of the bands were pupil-led. The concert started with a great rendition of Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls performed by Upper Sixth band The Porter’s Daughters, with lead vocals from Magnus T. The evening had a mix of upbeat and soulful numbers, alongside classics like Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. This was performed by pupils in the Hundred with great vocals by Paddy C and some excellent guitar solos from Ollie P. Lovely vocal performances by Millie A of Fast Car by Tracy Chapman/Luke Combs; and a duet by Jasmine P and Santo T performing Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

We also heard an original song by Nancy M and the whole evening closed with a performance of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition involving a large number of pupils, sung and led by Ben A. It was a fantastic event enjoyed by the audience and congratulations to all performers.
