Preview: Saturday Sport

The final Saturday of the Lent Term will see a range of match action with over 50 fixtures for Marlburians.

Cross Country
Runners will head to the National Schools Championships with the U18s getting underway at 2.30pm.

Football
There will be plenty of eyes on the big block fixture against Abingdon School with a number of CISL titles at stake. All senior sides are at home, with the Colts and Junior Colts heading to Oxfordshire.

Hockey
Cheltenham College are this Saturday’s block fixture opponents with the 1st XI headlining those travelling away from home. The Junior Colts 1-3 and Yearlings 1-3 are at home, whilst the Colts 1-3 will face Abingdon School.

Lacrosse
The 1st X and 2nd X squads will play an internal ‘stayers vs leavers’ fixture following the cancellation of the block fixture against St Mary’s Calne. The 4th X will take part in an Invitational Tournament at St Catherine’s Bramley.

Netball
The busiest of all sports is netball with 21 matches scheduled against Bradfield College. The ten most senior teams are at home (1st VII through to the U16D), whilst the U15As through to the U14F sidess will be heading to Berkshire.



Useful Information

Parking: Parents and visitors are invited to park either at the Water Meadows car park or up field. The Hyde Lane car park will also be in operation. Car parking marshals will be on hand to answer any questions and direct visitors to the respective pitch locations.

Refreshments: Match teas will be served for all teams and post-match hospitality for parents and visitors in Norwood Hall after each fixture.
