Commemoration & Prize Day

Tuesday 28th May 2024

Commemoration and Prize Day took place at the College on Saturday 25th May and it proved to be a most enjoyable occasion.

The sun shone brightly on a day that began with a T20 match between the Girls’ XI and Shrewsbury on the XI. The Upper Sixth and their families enjoyed the traditional Commemoration Service in Chapel before their Prize Giving ceremony in the Memorial Hall. A second Prize Giving event for the Lower School followed at 12pm.

Whilst up field, houses cheered on their teams in the Shell Tug-of-War and the Remove Challenge.

There were musical performances, pipers and a display on the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race to enjoy, before picnics were taken on the playing fields in house groups in view of the action on the XI, with the second T20 match of the day seeing the College’s 1st XI secure a 13-run win over the Marlborough Blues (OMs).

The Art School and Mount House Gallery were open for exhibitions of Fine Art and Photography by pupils and by Artist in Residence, Grace Payne-Kumar. The afternoon activities included mixed hockey and a tennis match against OMs and the final of the annual House Challenge which saw C2 and Turner compete for the trophy, with C2 emerging victorious.

All the Prize Winners can be found in this programme.

We hope you enjoy this gallery of images from a wonderful day.
