It was a packed house in The Garnett Room on Tuesday 23rd September as author Georgia Channon shared her debut novel, The Curse of the Silvan Oaks, with pupils from Shell, Hundred and Upper Sixth.
She shared her delight in creating exciting female villains reminiscent of Mrs Coulter from Phillip Pullmans’ His Dark Materials and Cruella Deville from 101 Dalmatians. In addition, Georgia shared her passion for Midsummer Night’s Dream and the quarrel between Titania and Oberon over a boy, which sparked her inspiration for the book.
There were plenty of questions at the end of the night and pupils eager to dive into the enchanting world that Georgia Channon has created.
