We are delighted to announce that Mark Alleyne MBE will be returning to the College in November 2025 to take up the position of Head of Cricket.
In this role, Mark will succeed outgoing Master i/c Mike Bush in leading the cricket programme. Mark was previously Cricket Professional at Marlborough from January 2016 to March 2024, successfully executing the role whilst maintaining his connection with first-class coaching.
Alleyne represented England in 10 ODIs during his playing days and captained the all-conquering Gloucestershire side of the early 2000s. He has also coached the England white ball side, Welsh Fire and Glamorgan.
In March 2024, Mark was appointed Head Coach at Gloucestershire CCC, returning to the club where he won nine trophies as a player. In a successful homecoming, Gloucestershire were victorious in the T20 Blast in his first season back at the helm. Mark will remain with Gloucestershire in his current but reimagined role alongside his duties at the College.
On his return to Marlborough, Mark will reunite with Cricket Professional Uzi Qureshi. Having previously worked together since 2019, they have overseen the exponential growth in scale and performance of boys’ and girls’ cricket at the College. We are excited to see what their reformed partnership will deliver.
