House Harmony

Monday 13th October 2025

It’s that time of year when things hot-up and we engage in the time-honoured tradition of the House Harmony and House Song Competitions. House Harmony takes place first and lights the touch paper for what is to follow.

This year, we made an adjustment to the awards for House Harmony, and lined it up with House Song, in so much as there are now category awards for Boys, Girls and Mixed Houses as well as the overall trophy for the champions. This was widely welcomed by the pupil body as there is now more to aim for rather than one solitary winner.

As the preliminary Harmony round indicated, there was much to enjoy and savour in a final packed full of variety, with some ambitious songs selected by contestants. With competition being fierce, adjudicator Mr Justin Pearson had his work cut out to select the winners. Mr Pearson is no stranger to this event having judged the competition a few years back, and once again, his astute and perceptive ear ensured that he was able to make some discerning decisions.

Congratulations then to Turner (Boys), New Court (Girls), and Littlefield (Mixed), with New Court eventually running out as overall winners.
