On Saturday the 15th of November, the 28 Lower Sixth pupils who are part of the College’s Model United Nations team attended their first conference in Taunton, hosted by Queen’s College.
In preparation, pupils had conducted mock MUN sessions to learn technique, perfected public speaking skills, and were given the exciting opportunity to speak directly with figures from the four nations they were representing. We are deeply grateful to Faride Assad Gómez, Head of Economic Affairs, Trade, and Tourism at the Embassy of Mexico, the Rwandan High Commission’s First Counsellor, Joseph Kabakeza, and Anna Walters, the UK’s Deputy Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their assistance.
Upon our arrival, our team immediately got stuck in, challenging other delegates and defending their countries interests. Particularly strong performances were seen from Zara S-J, Bláthnaid G and Felix J, all who won awards, far exceeding our first conference awards haul last year!
After the conference, I was delighted to announce Bláthnaid and Bertie C as the new Heads of MUN for the 2025-2026 season.
