As part of our annual Acts of Remembrance, pupils, staff, and families from C3 and Mill Mead came together on Sunday 9th November for the Poppy Run, held in support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. This year’s event saw 130 participants take to the fields, running in honour of those who gave their lives in service to others. To date, just under £2,000 has been raised for this important cause, with donations continuing to come in.
Gathering on Hamersley under dark autumn skies, runners set out on a 5km route that wound its way towards the Wedgwood stone and around the edges of the College campus. Amidst the vivid colours of the season, participants of all ages showed true perseverance and House spirit, taking time to reflect on the courage and sacrifices of those remembered at this time of year.
As the finish line approached, spirits were lifted further by the aroma of a well-earned BBQ feast, generously prepared by Ms Gibbs and Miss Giddings — a fitting conclusion to a morning marked by effort, reflection, and community.
Our sincere thanks go to all those who supported this special event — to the House tutors and staff who gave their time to marshal, and to the wider C3 and Mill Mead community whose generosity continues to make a meaningful difference.
Donations in support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal remain open via our JustGiving page.
