Cookery School fun

Tuesday 3rd February 2026

On Sunday 18th January, a small group of Marlborough College International pupils paid a visit to Vaughan’s Cookery School as part of an event organised by the International Pupils’ Society, to learn how to make sushi and tomago (Japanese Omelette). They had to do all the preparation and assemblage themselves and were left to their own devices to add the ingredients and come up with the combinations that they felt would work the best. They were then judged on consistency of rice, taste, presentation and range of food items created.

Congratulations go to Eylul T and Doga T for winning the competition. The lucky winners received a copy of Peter Vaughan’s recipe book. A special mention to Erol T too, who also received a copy of the book for being a very capable sous-chef to Peter Vaughan himself.

Much fun was had by all and from what we saw on Sunday, I think we have some budding chefs in our midst.
