Oxbridge offers

Wednesday 11th February 2026

We are delighted to announce that 13 Marlburians have received offers from Oxford and Cambridge. This is a tremendous achievement and excellent recognition of their hard work and academic ambition.

Nine Marlburians have been offered places at Oxford University. An incredible 75% of our candidates to study History were successful: Obaayaa A at Corpus Christi College, Nico F at Merton, and Joshua T at St Hugh’s. We celebrate with them and with the History Department, whose excellent super-curricular and mentoring programme is reflected in this year’s admissions.

Likewise, we celebrate with the Music Department on the success of two thirds of their candidates: Paddy C has been offered a place at University College and Bo G at Lady Margaret Hall. Both are amongst four pupils in receipt of a Choral Award: Paddy at St Peter’s and Bo at The Queen’s College, as is Joshua T (reading History). Faith S was the fourth recipient of a Choral Award this year; she has an offer to read French and Arabic at Pembroke College, alongside Theo W who has an offer to read Chinese and Japanese there, marking 100% admissions success for our linguists. In a highly competitive field in which only about 5% of candidates are admitted, Cosimo T secured a place at St Hugh’s to read Economics and Management, while Honor F will take up a place to read English at the prestigious Christ Church College.

Four Marlburians have received offers from Cambridge University: in another competitive field, Ron A has an offer to read Land Economy at Lucy Cavendish College, while Hester B has an offer for Veterinary Medicine at Murray Edwards College. A third success for our Modern Languages Department with Sarah A receiving an offer to read Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Trinity Hall and Diya Chadha (EL 2020-25) impressed at Peterhouse for History of Art, an excellent reflection of the academic commitment of our History of Art Department.

We congratulate our pupils on this notable achievement, the culmination of months of preparation and dedication. They have already inspired our Lower Sixth, who have embarked on their own Oxbridge preparation: extensive mentoring, departmental guidance, and admissions test and interview practice. Their academic pursuits are most impressive, enriching discussions in their A level classes and in our wider community.

Commenting on the results, Deputy Head (Academic), Dan Clark said ‘These offers reflect not only the talent and commitment of our pupils but also their willingness to engage deeply with their subjects and beyond. Securing places at the best universities demands intellectual curiosity and resilience, and our offer holders have demonstrated these qualities in abundance over their time at the College.’

Master, Louise Moelwyn-Hughes, said, ‘I am immensely proud of all that our pupils have achieved here, which has come from hard work and ambition. Their success is a testament not only to their individual talents but also to the culture of academic engagement and intellectual confidence we seek to foster at Marlborough.’
