At the start of the academic year, Piccalilli — a creative arts magazine — underwent a total transformation. Created by pupils for pupils and run by the English Department, the makeover included re-imagining the design and layout, as well as reconsidering what we mean by the creative arts.
In previous years, the magazine has featured creative writing and theatre reviews; this year, however, the editorial team chose to expand the brief. As a result, the magazine now includes sections on non-fiction, books, performing arts, creative writing, translations and interviews.

With thanks to the pupil-led editorial team of 2025–2026, the magazine is diverse, creative and thought-provoking. There is something for everyone to explore, from imaginative pieces to articles discussing whether social media should be banned. The calibre of writing is quite exceptional, and pupils should feel really proud of what they have achieved.
