Universities update

Monday 18th May 2026

We are delighted with the success enjoyed by our Upper Sixth pupils, both in the UK and overseas. The number and calibre of the university offers received have made this one of our most successful application seasons.

13 pupils received offers from Oxford or Cambridge. Offers from other highly selective UK universities have also been secured, including Imperial College (three), LSE (three), UCL (22), KCL (22) St Andrew’s (10) Warwick (19) Durham (80) Edinburgh (76) and Bristol (89).

Three pupils have received offers to study Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, with five others securing offers in the Allied Health field, including Midwifery, Nursing and Nutrition.

Our engineering offer rate is 86%, with 11 potential engineers holding offers from prestigious institutions including UCL, Durham and Warwick.

24 Marlburians have gained coveted Economics offers from institutions including Oxford, St Andrews, Durham, Warwick, KCL, Bristol and Bath.

29 (or 12% of the year cohort) have received offers to study Modern Languages either fully or as part of a joint honours’ degree.

In the Arts, notable offers include The Bartlett (UCL) for Architecture and the Glasgow School of Art for Fine Art. In music performance, offers have been received from Trinity Laban, BIMM, ACM and LIPA, while two pupils have secured offers from Oxford to study academic music.

Our well-established international university programme continues to produce outstanding results. This year has been our most successful to date with Ivy League and ‘Ivy Plus’ institutions dominating the US offers. These results place Marlborough amongst the most successful schools in the UK in this respect.

Marlburians have been accepted at Harvard, Brown, University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth and Columbia as well as Duke, Northwestern, Vanderbilt (95% Music Scholarship), Emory, UC San Diego & Irvine, Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon, Tufts, Boston College, Northeastern, NYU, Babson, USC, UVA, Loyola Marymount and many more.

Beyond the US, pupils have also gained places at Bocconi in Milan, IE Madrid in Spain and McGill in Canada.

We are exceptionally proud of our pupils and offer grateful thanks to all members of staff who have supported them through the application process, with special mention to the Futures Department.
