Many congratulations to Jecca Lyon Taylor (IH 2021-26) and Clarendon Haydn Taylor (NC 2021-26) who were top performers in Cambridge OCR’s A Level Art and Design: Fine Art this summer. OCR is one of the leading UK awarding bodies, which means Jecca and Clarendon are amongst the best performing young artists in the country. Last year, a similar accolade was awarded to Tilly Green (EL 2020-25).
Edward Twohig, our Director of Visual Arts said: ‘To receive two outstanding merit accolades in the one year from the Exam Board is most probably a first in the U.K. To have such achievement recognised is fantastic news but no less than what Jecca and Clarendon each deserved.’
‘Jecca and Clarendon were consistently exceptional Artists and exemplar Art Scholars across the five years of their Marlborough College career. Each worked tirelessly and fearlessly in the pursuit of visual discovery and enrichment. For each, hand, head and heart were one.’
This is a fantastic achievement for both pupils and for the Marlborough College Art Department which continues to excel. We are enormously proud of them all.
