Mount Kenya charity climb

Tuesday 29th September 2026

Congratulations to India E, Sasha A, Radha C and Hester C who raised a phenomenal £38,938 by climbing Mount Kenya in the summer.

From 29th June to 6th July, they took on the challenge of climbing Mount Kenya to raise money for causes close to their hearts. Over several days, they trekked across steep terrain, rocky paths and high-altitude conditions, pushing themselves physically and mentally as they climbed Africa’s second highest mountain (17,057 feet). Reaching the summit was a surreal and uplifting experience despite two of the girls suffering from altitude sickness.

The girls were fundraising for five charities: the Marlborough Difference Campaign (school bursaries), the Felix Project (east London food bank), the British Asian Trust, Glaucoma Research and Bowel Cancer UK.

The girls said: ‘this experience was very important to all of us as it meant all of our hard work was worthwhile as not only did we summit to one of the most incredible views any of us had ever seen but we were also able to help charities that are each individually very important to us”.

Through training, teamwork and determination, they have made a meaningful difference for others while taking on this demanding challenge. We are very proud of them.
