Our pupils are highly successful in gaining offers for their preferred universities and in securing the grades required to take up those places.
As the Class of 2026 begin their new journeys, we reflect on their remarkable achievements. This year, of the pupils who accepted a place, 82% will start at their first-choice university. Of these, 91% are Russell Group institutions, encompassing all of the country’s leading universities. Marlburians will progress to Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE, King’s College London, UCL, St Andrews, Bristol, Exeter, Durham, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds and many more.
Among the many individual successes, 11 of our pupils were successful at Oxbridge, 13 pupils have gained coveted places on Economics courses and two will pursue Architecture. Fifteen pupils will enrol at London’s most competitive universities – Imperial, UCL, LSE, and King’s College London – while 25 will take up places at Durham University, 18 at the University of Bristol and 33 at the University of Edinburgh.
The Class of 2026 is also distinguished by its global outlook, with 26 pupils set to matriculate at leading international institutions. These include Harvard, Brown, Columbia, NYU, USC, and UPenn in America, and McGill in Canada. In Europe, pupils will join Bocconi, IE University in Madrid and ESCP Paris.
In addition, 47% of the year group have elected to take a Gap Year, pursuing opportunities for global travel, community volunteering, internships, and personal enrichment before beginning their undergraduate studies.
While the statistics are impressive, Results Day is about far more than numbers. For pupils and their families, the day is a profoundly personal time of anticipation, as pupils look ahead to the next exciting stage of their educational journey. Their future pathways are the culmination of years of hard work, determination and ambition, and mark the beginning of exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
We are so proud of every one of our leavers. We celebrate the young men and women we have nurtured and the confident, compassionate individuals they are becoming.
We wish the Class of 2026 every success as they embark on this next stage of their education and life beyond Marlborough.
