Dance
Dance is a highly valued part of College life, providing pupils with opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, discipline, and teamwork. We are proud to offer a vibrant and inclusive dance programme that encourages participation at every level, from beginners to experienced performers. Pupils can explore a wide range of styles and opportunities via clubs, performances, workshops, and productions, allowing them to grow both technically and artistically.
Dance plays an important role in enriching the cultural life of the College and gives pupils the chance to express themselves, collaborate with others, and perform with confidence. We also educate pupils about the significant role Dance plays in supporting good mental health.
Our Human Movement Studio provides an exceptional environment for dance and performance. Filled with natural light and with stunning views, it is an inspiring and uplifting space in which pupils can rehearse, create, and perform.
The Dance Department is led by Megh Thompson, who is qualified in ISTD Imperial Ballet, Tap Dance and Modern Theatre, as well as RAD Ballet. She supports pupils who wish to develop their technique and work towards recognised dance examinations including many who chose to start syllabus classes when they join the College.
Megh’s and her team’s passion for performance and their commitment to pupil development ensure that dancers of all abilities feel supported and challenged. Through their guidance, pupils develop not only technical skill, but also confidence, resilience, and a genuine love of dance.
