Blue Stockings

Jane Darby’s dynamic production of Blue Stockings by Jessica Swale brought the fight for women’s education vividly to life in the Ellis Theatre, driven by a talented cross-year cast. Jasmine P led with energy and nuance as Tess, supported by a strong ensemble portraying both the courage of pioneering women and the resistance of the male establishment. Inventive staging, period-inspired costumes and fluid direction combined to create a visually engaging and thought-provoking piece, making this both a theatrical triumph and a powerful reflection on equality and academic opportunity.
