Macbeth

Shakespeare’s Macbeth thundered through the Ellis Theatre in a stark, post-apocalyptic vision, where Paul Cox’s brutalist bunker set and a haunting blend of military and medical imagery created an unsettling contemporary resonance. Casper Hawkins’ atmospheric lighting and relentless soundscape intensified the tension, supporting a committed, cross-year cast. Arthur K led with a commanding Macbeth, powerfully matched by Radha C’s persuasive Lady Macbeth, while the ensemble delivered consistently focused and dynamic performances. This visceral, modern interpretation compellingly affirmed the play’s enduring relevance.
