Summer School

Marlborough College runs the largest multi-generational summer activity programme in Europe. From its inception in 1974, Summer School has grown from two to four weeks and now welcomes 1,000 guests a week from all corners of the globe.

We offer more than 500 courses and a wealth of entertainment suitable for all ages and interests, from topical issues such as ‘Sustainability in Daily Life’ to practical workshops on Basic Bike Maintenance. Young people can try their hand at any number of diverse skills and activities from calligraphy and dance to Stay Alive Survival and outdoor adventures. Perennial favourites include fly fishing, tennis, horse riding and mountain biking, making the most of the great outdoors surrounding the College.

We also run a full entertainment programme offering a mix of galas, recitals and lectures. Speakers have included Janet Street-Porter and Kate Adie as well as performances from Andy Abraham, the Locrian Ensemble and an Elton John tribute act.
