When will you contact my references?

Should you be invited to attend an interview at Marlborough College for a teaching post, your referees will be contacted prior to your interview and the provided references will form part of the selection process. For support staff and sport posts, references may be taken up prior to your interview however your current employer will not be contacted if you have advised that you do not wish us to do so on your application form.

I have been asked to bring in the original versions of my qualifications to my interview but I cannot find them, what should I do?

Please still attend the interview, if you are successful then we will need you to source certified copies of any qualifications which are specified as a requirement for the position. 

I do not have all the ID documents requested on my invite to interview, what should I do?

Please still attend the interview and bring what ID documents you do have. If you are successful then we will need you to obtain any outstanding ID so as to perform a DBS check. If your passport has expired, we are still able to accept this as evidence of your right to work in the UK, however we will be unable to use it for the DBS check and other ID documentation will be required.  

I cannot attend an interview on the date/ time that I have been invited, am I able to rearrange?

Please contact the HR Department to discuss whether this is possible. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to rearrange.

I need some reasonable adjustments to be considered, will the College consider these?

Please contact a member of the HR team should you require reasonable adjustments. The College will make reasonable adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2010.

I have a criminal conviction/ warning, will I still be considered for the position?

The College will not unfairly discriminate against any applicant for employment on the basis of conviction or other details disclosed. Each case will be decided on its merits in accordance with the objective assessment criteria. Please see our Safer Recruitment Policy for further information.

Where should I go when I arrive for my interview?

Please report to the barrier just off Bath Road and ring the bell to communicate with Security who will direct you to the Water Meadows car park. You will then be directed to the reception which is in the centre of the campus.  HR will also email a map of the campus showing the location of the car park and reception.

I’ve been invited to attend an interview, is there parking available?

There is a car park for staff and visitors to use just inside the campus, the Water Meadows carpark.

I have been invited in to attend an interview where there will be a practical task, what should I wear?

Please arrive in formal interview attire and bring a change of clothing for the practical task unless otherwise specified in your invite to interview.

How long will you keep my application?

We destroy all applications after a period of six months, in line with General Data Protection Regulations.
