We want our pupils to understand how they learn, to know their own strengths and weaknesses, and which strategies work best for them so they can thrive in all aspects of their lives.
Our approach is grounded in research from cognitive science. This research shapes not only our classroom practice but also our integrated approach to developing positive character attributes across everything that we do.
In a rapidly changing world, where our pupils may enter careers that don’t yet exist and the impact of technology is still unfolding, one thing is certain: the right mindset, character and self-awareness will empower them to thrive.
Marlborough Mindset attributes
A Marlborough education holistically delivers the following four attributes which together spell CARE, which is at the heart of our community:

Within our academic, co-curricular, and pastoral programmes, we provide learning opportunities, experiences, frameworks and guidance which facilitate the development of the Marlborough Mindset attributes. Pupils learn how to develop these attributes across all aspects of their schooling and are given daily opportunities and support to experience doing that, in order to equip them to be successful throughout their lives.
