Boundless Expectations

Our pupils are expected to be ambitious to fully realise their individual potential and they are given exceptional support, teaching and facilities to achieve this end. We maintain exemplary standards and a track record of excellent results. Our history is full of innovation and achievement and we will always encourage a questioning mind and an adventurous spirit.

Meaningful Relationships

The greatest strength of our school is the quality of the relationships throughout our community. Young people at Marlborough thrive through their interaction with adults and peers in ways that go far beyond the formulaic relationship imposed by the classroom. The houses provide pupils with secure and supportive pastoral care, fostering independence and interdependence. They are a real home, where pupils form friendships for life and develop the social and leadership skills needed to flourish as adults.

Breadth Open to All

We encourage all our pupils to make the most of the outstanding breadth of academic and co-curricular opportunities that are on offer to them. Driven by our ethos, we strive to maintain the broadest possible range of choices and we celebrate achievement at every level. A willingness to participate wholeheartedly and to try new enriching things is valued as highly as elite performance. In a full boarding environment, this goes beyond formal lessons. The working week at Marlborough is full and diverse, with weekends offering an engaging programme of activities and experiences.

Inspired by the World Around Us

Our stunning setting shapes who we are and what we do. The beautiful historic buildings and the stories of OMs inspire us to uphold their tradition. It is our turn now to serve the communities we touch and to play our part in driving positive change in the wider world. Connected to our Anglican roots, we are surrounded by a spiritual richness that incites self-awareness and emotional maturity and helps to build a community unafraid to ask important questions about life, scholarship, service and values. We recognise that we are enriched by the inspiration from others whose experiences are different to our own and we actively seek out partnerships that broaden our understanding and appreciation of the world around us.
