Cathy graduated from Bristol University with a BSc in Chemistry before completing a PGCE at York University. Commencing her teaching career, Cathy taught Chemistry and Biology at Warminster School, where she was also a Resident House Tutor and member of the CCF.
A keen mountaineer, Cathy then moved to the Alps to join Aiglon College in Switzerland. There, she was both Head of Junior Science and Head of Junior Boys’ Expeditions, dividing her time between teaching Chemistry and Biology to A level and developing the Junior Expedition ski and camping programme. Committed to co-educational boarding education, she was again a Resident House Tutor.
Cathy returned to the UK, and Marlborough College, in 1996 and was appointed Head of Chemistry a year later. Having managed the Chemistry Department for six years, she became Housemistress of New Court, a position she held for ten years before returning to the role of Head of Chemistry in 2014.
Cathy is a qualified yoga teacher and mountain leader.
