Charlie Pembroke

Charlie took over Ivy House in 2017. She joined the College’s Geography Department in September 2014 having previously been Head of Pastoral Care and Geography at St Francis School, Pewsey, and Head of Geography at Lampton School, Hounslow. Charlie attended St Peter’s School, York, read Geography at Newcastle University and obtained her PGCE at Brasenose College, Oxford University.

After moving to South Africa with her husband in 2003, she gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Psychology and worked as a counsellor at Chrysalis Academy in Cape Town, then taught Geography at the Regent School, Abuja. The family returned to the UK in 2010.

Charlie coaches lacrosse and has previously coached hockey and netball. She enjoys drawing, music, swimming and tennis. She is married to Richard (an OM) who helps out with the hockey and cricket programmes at the College. They have four children, Anna, Rosie, Will and Tom.
