Guy studied Classics, and subsequently English Literature & Language, at Oxford University. After graduation and a PGCE, he became an English teacher at Eastbourne College, then taught and was Head of English in international schools in Kuwait and Japan. He joined Marlborough in 1995 and has been Head of Guidance since 2003. He has edited and written on English, university and careers matters, and has served on and chaired a number of advisory boards, including UCAS.
