Head of Learning Support

Helen Green

Helen studied Psychology at Nottingham University. After gaining her PGCE she was a primary school teacher for 27 years. Amongst her many additional roles she was English lead and was also very active in outdoor and environmental education, including leading her school to achieve the prestigious Green Flag Award.

She has worked as a qualified SENDCO since 2013, and after achieving an MSc in Special Educational Needs at Southampton University and attaining both AMBDA and APC, Helen made the leap into Further Education. Helen worked as a dyslexia assessor and specialist tutor and quickly took on the role of leading the large Learning Support team at Bournemouth and Poole College, supporting an eclectic mix of 16–18-year-olds, university, and mature students.

Helen joined Marlborough College in November 2022 as SENDCO and Head of Academic Support. She is also a tutor in New Court. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors including walking and cycling, and regularly coaches kayaking and canoeing at her local club.
