After graduating from The Royal Academy of Music, Jane divided her time between singing and teaching and travelled all over the country in a busy peripatetic life-style. She settled in Ely with her young family and was appointed as Director of Music at Thetford Grammar School, where she established GCSE and A Level Music and a well-renowned choir. The choir travelled to Italy and France and sang at the opening of the Thiepval Memorial Visitor Centre, in the presence of the Duke of Kent. Thanks to funding from the Music for Youth scheme Jane set up an after-school music club offering singing and instrumental tuition for 100 local children. Services to the Music Profession were recognised in the award of the ARAM in 2003.
Jane subsequently took on the role of Deputy Head at Thetford and later accepted the post as Head of The Park School in Yeovil, Somerset, where she spent ten happy years. Jane has recently re-located to Gloucestershire and continues to work as an ISI Team Inspector. She is delighted to join the busy and exciting Music Department at Marlborough College as part-time Music Secretary.
