Having completed his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Bath, Jonathan worked as a research Biochemist in the pharmaceutical industry in Cambridge before retraining as a physical therapist and running his own company for eight years. He started teaching after moving to Wales to marry his wife Shelley in 2009.
He has been a member of the Common Room at Marlborough since August 2011 as a Chemistry beak and was Resident House Tutor in Barton Hill before taking over C1. As a Housemaster, Jonathan refers to himself as a ‘lifer’, and is kept on an even keel by his wonderful wife Shelley, who is herself a tutor in New Court, son Tal, and their dog Buddy the vizsla.
Jonathan is a committed schoolmaster and is heavily involved in co-curricular activities at the College. He has six black belts in martial arts, played rugby and hockey to a representative level, currently coaches both sports, and is still an active hockey goalkeeper, he plays the bagpipes, and helps run the school chess club. Other interests include reading, writing and food.
