Julian studied Geography and Environmental Science at Queen Mary College, London, and spent three years managing a field studies centre in southern France, before starting his teaching career.
He joined Marlborough College in September 2001 to teach Geography, alongside coaching rugby and lacrosse. For 12 years, he supported his wife, Julia, in the running of Morris House where she was the Housemistress.
Julian has been involved with the pastoral provision at the College for over a decade. He developed the current Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHEE) curriculum and oversaw the introduction of timetabled PSHEE lessons for the Lower School in September 2021. Julian remains a committed supporter of the co-curricular programme playing a key role in the lacrosse coaching team.
