Katherine Holder is Head of Chemistry at Marlborough College, where she leads the department alongside her role as an Assistant Housemistress. She joined Marlborough in August 2023, bringing with her a strong record of academic leadership, pastoral care, and a passion for inspiring pupils in the sciences.
Prior to Marlborough, Katherine taught Chemistry at Wellington College, where she also served as Head of Athletics and Assistant Housemistress. She previously held roles at Headington School as both Teacher of Chemistry and Head of House, and began her teaching career at d’Overbroeck’s College, Oxford. Alongside her school responsibilities, she has extensive experience supporting pupils beyond the classroom as a private tutor, preparing GCSE and A-Level candidates in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. She also works as an Assistant Examiner for Cambridge Assessment International Education.
Katherine holds a Master of Chemistry from the University of Oxford and completed her PGCE with QTS at the University of Buckingham, achieving a distinction. A committed advocate for co-curricular life, she has been involved in coaching and sport throughout her career, including as a running coach at Dragon School, Oxford.
