Marianne grew up in Dorset where she attended Bryanston School before completing a degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford.
Marianne started her teaching career at Oundle School, following a PGCE at the University of Cambridge, where she was also an assistant housemistress. She then joined her husband in running an Eton College boarding house whilst teaching Maths and Science at Godstowe Preparatory School.
She joined Marlborough in 2022 as a teacher of Biology, and has also run polo, helped with the Outreach programme and mentored potential Oxbridge Scientists. She has been a tutor in Ivy House for the last three years and is excited to be taking over the role of Housemistress in New Court from September 2025.
In her spare time Marianne enjoys spending time with her family and long, countryside walks with Floyd, their enthusiastic flat-coated retriever, as well as musical and crafty pursuits.
She is married to Jimmy who is Deputy Head (Co-Curricular) at Marlborough and teaches classics. They have two daughters who are current Marlborough pupils.
