Piers Coleman Esq

Piers joined the Council in December 2017.

He was educated at St Edmund’s School, Canterbury, and qualified as a solicitor in 1978. He set up his own Fleet Street law firm in 1980, which he left to join what became the global law firm now known as K&L Gates, and where he was an equity partner until he retired in 2020. He specialised in complex commercial real estate transactions and also in the law on elections, where he was involved in many of the leading election cases for over 30 years. He now works as a consultant on issues relating to the conduct of elections and the passage of legislation.

Piers was formerly a Governor at his old school and at Brambletye School. He is a member of the Buildings Committee, the Nominations Committee and the Remuneration Committee.
