Simon was educated at St Paul’s School before studying Zoology at Imperial College London followed by Human Evolution and Behaviour at University College, London. After a career as an international rower he returned to Imperial as Chief Rowing Coach.
Simon started teaching Biology at Shiplake College in 2005 before moving to Marlborough College in 2009. At Marlborough he has been Head of Year for both Shell and Remove as well as Resident House Tutor in Preshute. He has coached rugby, netball, athletics, tennis and kayaking.
After thoroughly enjoying being a tutor-assessor early on in the development of the Extended Project, Simon became involved in the teaching of it in 2014 and was appointed Director of the Extended Project in 2022.
Simon has an Olympic gold medal from rowing in the Sydney 2000 Games.
