Tim was educated at Marlborough, Cambridge and Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Development Subcommittee and was Chairman of Marlborough’s Development Committee from 2014–17. He is a trustee of Marlborough College Foundation.
Tim was CEO of Ellerman Wilson Line and a Director of Ellerman Lines before moving to Hong Kong in 1982 to work with Dr Robin Loh, who started many international businesses in construction, shipping, oilfield, paper products and property. Tim was Chairman of Robina Land Corporation in Queensland and Elder Leasing Corporation of Houston, Texas. He currently chairs a private investment trust and a grant-making charity. He is a Director of the International Concussion and Head Injury Research Foundation.
Tim’s daughter left Marlborough in 2017 and he has a son at the College. Tim has a keen interest in education and was a governor of the St Bede’s Schools Trust from 1997–2014. He was a Fellow of the Sutton Trust and is a supporter of and believer in life-changing bursaries.
Tim joined the Council in April 2020.
