English - Nick Gordon

Head of Department

Nick Gordon was educated at Castle Park School (Dublin), Winchester College, The University of Edinburgh and Trinity College Dublin. He has an MA in English Literature.

His first career was in broadcast journalism working for ABC News, Sky News and ITN. The majority of his time was spent with the BBC as a producer in the Planning and Foreign News departments working on television and radio news across all BBC outlets, including the major bulletins.

Nick joined Marlborough College in 2007, straight from the newsroom, before studying for a PGCE from the University of Buckingham. In addition to English, he has taught Form and been instrumental in establishing Creative Writing as a taught subject. He coaches cricket, football and golf. He is a house tutor in C3. Between 2012-2017 he was Head of Sixth Form, before taking on the Head of English role.
