Italian - Amanda WoodfordHead of Department
Amanda read French and Italian at Oxford University. She then studied History of Art at the Courtauld Institute and worked as an event organiser in Rome before spending five years in the travel industry. She has also worked in advertising and as a translator. She joined Marlborough College as a French and Spanish teacher in 2004 and established the Italian department in 2010. Since then the department has grown enormously and we now have about 80 students across the school studying Italian, with a significant number going on to read the subject at university. Amanda also teaches History of Art and leads a number of trips to Italy each year for both departments. In addition to this she is an adviser in the Guidance department and is in charge of all our Oxbridge applications.
