Housemasters and Housemistresses

James Lyon Taylor was appointed as Housemaster of Littlefield in September 2009. He read Biology at Bristol, before completing a PGCE at Reading and more recently a Masters at the University of Oxford.

James joined Marlborough in September, 2006. He teaches in the Biology Department and was Resident House Tutor in C3 before joining Littlefield. Prior to this, he was at Brighton College where he taught Biology and Chemistry. He was also Head of Shell (Year 9).

James is a keen sportsman and coaches the Junior Colts 1st XV rugby and 1st XI hockey. He has also previously been involved in the school’s CCF and the Christian Forum.

In his spare time, James enjoys skiing, fishing and playing golf and tennis and tending to his growing flock of chickens! He is keen on travel and, in particular, runs a small charity in schools in rural Kenya.

James is married to Eleanor, herself a prep school teacher at Pinewood, who plays an active role in the House. She is very much involved in the House, especially with the Sixth Form girls.

James and Eleanor have three children, Emily, Jecca and Henry. As a family they enjoy skiing and spending time in Scotland and Cornwall.
