Housemasters and Housemistresses

Charlotte (Charlie) Pembroke took over Ivy House at the start of the 2017 Summer Term. She joined the College’s Geography Department in September 2014 having previously been Head of Pastoral Care and Geography at St Francis School, Pewsey. 

Charlie attended St Peter’s School, York, read Geography at Newcastle University and obtained her PGCE at Brasenose College, Oxford. She was appointed Head of Geography at Lampton School, Hounslow, a large multicultural secondary school in West London, before moving to South Africa with her husband’s work in 2003. During her time in South Africa she gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology and worked as a counsellor at Chrysalis Academy in Cape Town, a residential programme aimed at youth at risk from townships across South Africa. In 2009 the family spent a year in Nigeria where Charlie taught Geography at the Regent School, Abuja. The family returned to the UK in 2010.

Charlie currently coaches lacrosse and has coached hockey and netball in the past.  She enjoys drawing, music, swimming and tennis. She is married to Richard (an OM) who manages a range of his own business interests in the UK and abroad. Richard also helps out with the hockey and cricket programme at the College. They have four teenage children, Anna, Rosie, Will and Tom.
