Russian - Nick Nelson-Piercy

Nick learned Russian from aged 13 at Leighton Park School, Reading. He went on to read the language at Nottingham University and from there he went to Sheffield University for his PGCE. His first post was in Barnsley as Head of Russian in an 11-16 Comprehensive where he taught for 6 years, spending one year on secondment in Ukraine; he then moved to South Wilts Grammar School for 3 years and from there came to Marlborough in 1998.

Nick spent 11 years in a boarding house as both RHT and HM. Presently he helps to run the Polo offering at the College and tutors in Littlefield House. A keen sportsman Nick has represented GB at junior level in kayaking and more recently in the Masters’ Road Cycling team.

He is married to Val, Dame in Ivy House and they have three grown up boys.
