Dear players, coaches and parents,

Thank you for accepting the invitation to participate in the U10 Hockey and Rugby Festival here at Marlborough on Wednesday 29th November. There is an exciting afternoon in store with some fantastic fixtures in prospect.

Sport is part of daily life here at Marlborough. We strive for every pupil to participate actively and to have a truly positive experience, developing a lifelong interest in and lasting enjoyment of sporting activity that will foster good habits long into adulthood. I do hope you get a sense of the energy and enthusiasm for sport during your visit today and are able to enjoy the College’s wonderful facilities.

Discover more about sport at Marlborough, which is part of daily life at the College. Pupils compete in a wide range of over 20 competitive sports, as well as participating in frequent high-energy house competitions, utilising our outstanding College facilities.

Format of the Day

Arrival is 1.00pm and matches will begin at 1.30pm.

Girls’ Hockey

There is one group of six teams and each game will last 12 minutes.

Group 1: 
Brockhurst & Marlston
Cheam
Oratory Prep School
Pinewood
St Hughes

Boys’ Rugby

There are two groups, both with four teams. Each game will last ten minutes.

Group 1: 
Cheam

Directions and Map

Marlborough enjoys excellent road links. Bristol, Bath and Oxford are all accessible within an hour’s drive and London within an hour and a half.

Sport Scholarships and Bursaries

Marlborough offers an exceptional experience for aspiring sportsmen and women. We offer bespoke training plans to develop talent and enable sports scholars to pursue their goals within national Elite Pathway Programmes and Academies.

Sport scholars benefit from our strength and conditioning programme which includes nutritional and psychological profiling, specialist tactical and technical advice through video analysis and the coaching expertise of former international players. Each scholar is monitored and mentored throughout the year to ensure that there is a balance between their sporting commitments and their academic priorities.

We can offer means-tested bursary places of up to 100% of fees paid, and a limited number of discretionary non means-tested scholarship places carrying a fee reduction of up to 20%.
